Shepreth Wildlife Park - Animal Carer & Park Maintenance
I worked in both a full time and part time positions over a four 1/2 year period. My primary role was Animal Carer/Park Ranger. I was responsible for the care of the big cats (Tigers, Lynx and Mountain Lions), wolves, monkeys, lemurs, birds of prey, ponies, racoons and many other species as well. I led group tours of the park talking to the public about the animals and also did falconry displays in the summer when the park was busy. I hand reared some of the animals and assisted in putting animals to sleep when necessary. I prepared the daily feeds for the exotic animals and the field animals. I cleaned enclosures and conducted enviromental enrichment practises.
I also saw to the safety of members of the public and did alot of maintenance jobs including assisting in the building of new enclosures.
Other employment:
When I was younger I worked in various jobs to support myself, including: Language school office/admin work, nightclub stewarding, selling ice-cream and cleaning.
Interests:
I enjoy walking in the great outdoors, spending quality time with my family, wildlife (especially big cats), swimming, badminton, art, films, learning and much more.
